Overview
With contentbird, you can plan, create, and automatically publish social media posts—all within one central tool. Supported platforms include Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.
1. Set Up Integrations
Before getting started, you need to connect your social media accounts at the project level.
➡️ Once connected, the respective networks are available directly in the content creation process.
2. Create Content Types for Social Media
To create social posts, you need appropriate content types:
📍 Management → System → Types
Select the respective social network
Irrelevant fields are automatically hidden
Create separate types per channel (e.g. LinkedIn Post, Instagram Post)
3. Create Social Media Posts
Click “+” to create new content and select the appropriate social content type.
Editor Features
Select the social media profile
Enter post text
Add media (images, graphics)
Insert links
Preview the post
Schedule or publish directly
3.1 Emojis
Standard emojis can be used directly in the editor.
3.2 Mentions / Tags
Users can be mentioned using “@”
Supported on all platforms except Instagram
3.3 Media
You can add content in different ways:
Upload from your device
Select from asset management
Create via Canva (integration)
3.3.1 Image Editing
Images can be edited directly
Templates for different platforms are available
3.4 Links
Facebook & LinkedIn: preview is generated automatically
Twitter: insert links directly into the text
UTM Tracking
Available for Facebook & LinkedIn
Enables tracking of traffic sources
4. Saving & Publishing
Save as Draft
Without a publication date, the post remains a draft
Schedule Publication
Set date and time
Post is published automatically
Publish Immediately
Post is published within 15 minutes
Important:
Selecting “Save as draft” will cancel a scheduled publication.
5. Using the Calendar
The calendar is used for visual planning of social posts:
Draft planning without publishing is possible
Final publishing only occurs via “Schedule” or “Publish now”
The difference is indicated by the time display

Replanning is required afterward
