Overview

A traditional CSV or Excel import for keywords is not supported in contentbird. Instead, keywords can be imported quickly and easily using copy & paste.

How the Import Works

  • Open your keyword set

  • Copy your keywords from a table (e.g. Excel or Google Sheets)

  • Paste them into the input field

Important Formatting Rules

To ensure keywords are recognized correctly, follow these rules:

Option 1: One keyword per line

content marketing
seo strategy
keyword analysis

Option 2: Separation within one line

Keywords can also be separated using delimiters, for example:

content marketing, seo strategy, keyword analysis

Common Mistake

If multiple keywords are written in one line without separators, they will be interpreted as a single keyword.

Example (incorrect):

content marketing seo strategy keyword analysis

β†’ This will be saved as one keyword

Best Practices

  • Prefer: one keyword per line

  • Alternatively: use clear separation with commas

  • Check your list for formatting errors before pasting

  • Ensure consistent wording (e.g. singular/plural)

Conclusion

Keyword import in contentbird is intentionally simple: copy & paste instead of file upload. With proper formatting, you can quickly and cleanly add large keyword lists to your project.
