The contentbird browser extension allows you to transfer finished content directly into your CMS—without switching between tabs or relying on manual copy-paste. It streamlines and structures the publishing process.


Installation

You can find the extension in your user profile:

  • Available for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox

  • After installation, it appears in the top right corner of your browser


Setup

When opening the extension for the first time:

  • enter your contentbird subdomain

  • add your extension token

👉 This connects the extension to your contentbird database.


Finding and selecting content

  • Open the extension in your browser

  • Search for the desired content

  • Select the relevant content piece


Transferring content to your CMS

After selecting a content piece, you have several options:

Structured section copy

  • Content is divided into predefined sections

  • Images are recognized as separate blocks

  • Copied sections are marked

Free selection

  • Highlight and copy individual text sections

  • Useful for flexible content placement


Copy full content

  • Copy the entire content with one click


Using additional data

You can also access:

  • Meta Title

  • Meta Description


After publishing

Once content is added to your CMS:

  • Click “Publish content” in the extension

  • The current URL is automatically captured

  • Publication date is set

  • Costs can be added

  • Save

👉 The content in contentbird will then:

  • be set to “Published”

  • include URL and metadata

  • be activated for performance tracking
