What are MCP Connectors?

Written by Sophia Siddig

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol – the standard through which contentbird connects to external tools. MCP Connectors are the connection within the AI Content Brain: a growing list of tools you can link up, each with a concrete use-case description. Long term, this will become its own MCP Connector Marketplace.

Which tools are available?
Currently, among others: Notion, Ahrefs, Sistrix, WordPress, Brevo – and the ecosystem keeps growing. Coming soon: Slack, Microsoft Teams, and more.

What does a connector actually get me?
Every connector comes with a description of what it brings to your day-to-day content work – so you don't have to figure out yourself how to use it effectively. Example, Ahrefs or Sistrix: topic scoring based directly on SEO data, with prioritization at the click of a button.

Do I need support from my IT team for this?
No – connectors can be activated without any development effort, as long as the respective tool supports MCP.
