If you want to send messages from contentbird Convert via an e-mail address of your product domain, we offer you the option in contentbird Convert of defining a subdomain for e-mail dispatch.

To prevent the reputation of your product domain from being impaired, we only support subdomains as mailing domains. Whether this is a 3rd-level domain or even lower is up to you. We also recommend using a dedicated mail domain for contentbird Convert. This makes it easy to change the mail domain if it is listed as a spam sending domain. This procedure also ensures that the reputation of your main/regular shipping domain is not affected by contentbird Convert.

For our product domain contentbird-convert.com, for example, we have chosen m.contentbird-convert.com as the mailing domain.

By delegating the shipping domain to our service provider, you ensure that they make the correct DNS settings to ensure optimal deliverability, as the necessary "domain alignment" can be maintained here, which is required for successful validation within the framework of DMARC & Co.

Configuration

In your medium, set the configuration in "Outgoing mail server (SMTP)" to "Standard contentbird GmbH", if you have not already done so. You can then change the sending domain to "delegated shipping domain" and enter the domain you have selected:

After saving the settings, the registered domain is checked for the DNS entries required for delegation. Delegation takes place via a few entries in the name server of your main domain, which look as follows for the subdomain "m.contentbird-convert.com" used by us, for example, and which you will find for the domain you have selected after saving the above form.

NS m.contentbird-convert.com. IN NS ns1.domains.inxserver.com.

NS m.contentbird-convert.com. IN NS ns2.domains.inxserver.com.

NS m.contentbird-convert.com. IN NS ns3.domains.inxserver.com.

NS m.contentbird-convert.com. IN NS ns4.domains.inxserver.com.

The status of the DNS entries is also displayed in the form:

A green tick indicates DNS entries that have already been found.

Please note that, depending on the configuration of your DNS settings, it can take up to 48 hours for these to be updated.

Review by our team

Every change you make to the shipping domain must be checked and approved by our team. Until this has been done, the status is as follows:

As soon as we have confirmed the domain and made the other necessary settings, you will also see a green tick here.

Set sender address

You can now specify your desired e-mail address in the medium under "Edit sender":
