Introduction

A clear content strategy is the foundation of successful content marketing. In contentbird, you can define a dedicated strategy for each project to ensure that all content aligns with shared goals and guidelines.

Function Overview

The content strategy is defined at the project level. This allows you to set key strategic parameters that are relevant for planning and creating content.

To edit a project’s strategy, go to:
Setup → Projects
There, open the desired project and navigate to the “Strategy” tab to define your strategic framework.

The strategy page is divided into two main areas: an overarching strategy for the entire project and strategic attributes for individual pieces of content.

Usage and Setup

Strategy for the entire project

In the first section, you define fundamental strategic elements that apply to all content within a project. These may include:

  • Target audiences

  • Core topics and positioning

  • Brand messaging and tone of voice

  • Overarching content goals

These elements form the strategic framework for all content and ensure a consistent direction across your content production.

Strategy for individual content

In the second section, you define strategic attributes that can vary between individual content pieces. This allows you to tailor content to specific audiences and communication goals.

Each piece of content can be aligned with:

  • A specific persona

  • A specific customer journey phase

  • A defined content goal

  • A suitable call to action

These attributes are later used directly in the content tickets and help ensure that content is planned and executed strategically.

Conclusion

With the content strategy feature in contentbird, you ensure that your content is not created in isolation but as part of a clearly defined overall plan. By combining project-wide guidelines with individual content goals, your content production remains strategic, consistent, and transparent.
