Overview

If a Google account cannot be reconnected to contentbird, it is usually due to existing permissions stored in the Google account. These need to be reset once.

Solution: Reset access permissions

1. Log in to your Google account

Sign in to the affected Google account and open the security section:

👉 “Security” / “Manage your account security”

2. Remove contentbird access

  • Navigate to Security → Third-party apps with account access

  • Find contentbird in the list

  • Remove the existing permissions

3. Reconnect the account

  • Go back to contentbird

  • Restart the integration process

  • Connect your Google account again as usual

Background

Google stores existing app connections.
If these connections were not properly removed, issues can occur when trying to reconnect.

👉 Manually removing access fully resets the connection.

Best practices

  • Always disconnect integrations properly (ideally directly in contentbird)

  • Use a central Google account for integrations

  • Regularly review active app permissions in your Google account

Conclusion

By removing contentbird access in your Google security settings, you can quickly resolve connection issues and successfully reconnect your account.
