Introduction

When scheduling social media posts in contentbird, there are a few things you should be aware of. This article is continuously updated and gives you a quick overview of current changes and important notes.

What has changed?

📱 Instagram Stories – single slides only

Previously, Stories could be scheduled with multiple slides. Unfortunately this is currently no longer possible – Stories can only be scheduled as single slides. We are already working on a solution and will keep you updated.

#️⃣ Maximum 5 hashtags per Instagram post

Instagram has officially limited the number of hashtags per post to 5. Posts with more than 5 hashtags will not be published.

💬 Maximum 5 mentions per Instagram post

While Instagram allows up to 20 mentions directly in the app, the Instagram API – which contentbird uses to schedule and publish posts – currently limits mentions to 5 per post. This is an API-side restriction that we unfortunately cannot influence.

What should you do?

  • Stories: Schedule each slide as a separate post

  • Hashtags: Use a maximum of 5 targeted hashtags per post

Summary

We understand that these changes may affect your day-to-day workflow and appreciate your patience. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the contentbird support team. 👍
