How do I connect Canva to contentbird and use my designs directly in the editor?

Overview

The Canva integration lets you bring your Canva designs straight into contentbird, with no downloading and re-uploading. It works in both the Social Editor and the Content Editor.

1. Connect your Canva account

📍 Top right, click your profile → Integrations

  • Click “Connect” next to Canva and sign in with your Canva account

  • The status then shows “Connected”, with your name and the date

Important: The connection is per user, not per project. You only see designs you created yourself or that were shared with you.

2. Add designs in the Social Editor

  • In the Media section, click “Select from Canva”

  • Choose a design and import it

Edit directly in Canva: In the Social Editor, you can open an inserted image in Canva, edit it, and transfer the new version straight back into your post.

3. Add designs in the Content Editor

  • Click the Canva icon in the toolbar (“Select from Canva”)

  • Choose a design and import it

4. The selection window

  • Browse All designs or your Canva folders

  • Search, sort (e.g. “Last edited”) and filter

  • Choose a format: PNG (best for graphics and text) or JPG (smaller files, good for photos)

  • Confirm with “Import page”

FAQ

I can’t find a design. Check whether it’s shared with your Canva account. You only see other team members’ designs if they’ve been shared with you.

How do I disconnect? Profile → Integrations → “Disconnect”.

Does every team member need to connect Canva? Yes, each person connects their own Canva account.
